Why were the muses black?

Is it because of the stereotype that blacks are naturally good at singing? That they are the only ones who can possess "soul"? Because the ancient Grecians were white.

There are purple, red, pink, peach, grey, blue, pitch-black with lava highlights, fuscia and fish-faced Gods in the film, but the brown colored Muses are questionable?

Nevermind the historical fact that the Greeks traded with (and some dare I say bred with) African nations like Egypt and Nubia and wrote about these brown and black skinned peole.

And let's talk about how realistic ancient Greeks purchasing rubber air-hercs and drinking canned soda? Disney took a risk of infusing modern and ancient culture and it worked. I wonder why brown skin in Greece is the most unbelievable thing?
