The thing with a plot twist is...

...you had to be going somewhere to begin with. After spending the first hour wondering just what the heck this film was about, when the 'bombshell' finally came it really had no impact whatsoever. I was like, oh ok then. So he killed the guy .. who was his.. ya ya.. and that's why he tracked him down in the deser... probably had been watching him in Vegas... It was all very informative, but cinematically a dud. No surprise just relief. But the problem is not really the obscure plot it's the lack of interest that the director manages to develop in that first hour; he relies mainly on the two central characters who are both really boring. (And even worse one copies the other.)

Anyway, I didn't like the film, but hey he's done better. But whatever, this doesn't contain a plot twist, like some people say, just a badly delivered storyline.

I also thought the plot twist fell flat. I wasnt moved by it when Sam Jacksons character shouts it out. So he does all this for John just to atone for his killing of his father. Big whoop.

But i disagree about the first hour being boring. I was absorbed in it from the first casino scene onwards. I also liked the Gwyneth stuck in a hotel trying to get her money scene but it also thought it could have been done better.

I guess all of us are watching PSH's movies now. He was pretty good in this as well as a loudmouth. But it was just bizarre that whole scene... Where was it going? What was it trying to tell us about Sydney? that hes a stern man of action and little talk? He puts his money where his mouth is(nt)?

Also, ive never thought Gwyneth Paltrow was very attractive but shes gorgeous in this film.. Maybe cuz shes younger or something, i dont know.

Overall the movie was entertaining and kept me engaged. But kinda underwhelming in the end.
