Bound - The Wachowski Brothers
Blood Simple - The Coen Brothers
Following - Christopher Nolan

...all their first films...

Though you might have seen them already. But it fits them into Sydney's league quite nicely.

The first two are also obviously American films, and I find it really interesting to see the similar styles of all three (Bound, Blood Simple, Sydney).

There's also Carlito's Way (De Palma), The Fisher King (Gilliam), Wise Blood (Huston), The Conversation (Coppola), The Hit (Stephen Frears), The Long Goodbye (Altman), and McCabe & Mrs. Miller (also Altman).

schizopolis and duel are definately two underrated and underrecognized movies by two awesome directors. i think people like cronenberg a lot but dont give Dead Ringers the credit it deserves. Definately an amazing movie, for me even better than Videodrome,Naked Lunch or A History of Violence.
