Detroit

I don't remember if it ever says that it takes place in detroit, but throughout the movie there were constant references to places and street names and whatnot in detroit. I just assumed it was L.A., but I can't help but notice all the reference to it being in detroit although the only filming location listed is in L.A. still, just because it was filmed in L.A. doesn't mean the movie doesn't take place in Detroit.
the guy that wrote and directed it is from detroit, so I think that kind of settles it. The movie reminded me of something in the style of Elmore Leonard, and a lot of his books take place in detroit so...

just something I found interesting. I just saw the movie for the first time and really liked it. you can watch it on the watch now thingy for netflix.
