WHAT ROLE'S COULD YOU PICTURE TUPAC PLAYING

What film's could you picture Shakur being in and the role he would play?

Come on where are the users answering this one? Well it just goes to show:
Underated Film = Underated Message Boards.

Well anyway, I think Tupac surpassed my expectations, in fact by quite a bit -
I watched this film in the first place becuase I love cringe-worthy rap-acting
- but no, he was an actor in this film, not a rapper acting.

And it just makes his death doubly tragic for us film/tupac lovers.
While I thought he was fairly average in 'Above the Rim', this was clearly down to the script; when given the much higher quality of script for 'Gridlock'd' he really shone.
I picture Tupac could have gone on to modern, urban dramas. Obviously a biopic or similar struggling musician stories would have been perfect, but who knows how wide his range would have been.

Perhaps:

1. Struggling musician who finds success.
2. Fast talking buddy in a buddy cop film.
3. Volatile gang leader in hood movie.
4. Artist (painting) who challenges the norm in early 1900s New York.
5. Singer on Broadway with a highly charged personal life.

He was actually very well suited to dramatic acting, becuase while he could be electric when he got angry, and completely capture the screen, he could also show a sensitivity. When you have both these qualities together, I honestly think that save his tragic death, we would be seeing him up on screen today, a favourite with critics and audiences alike.

RIP TUPAC

He could have and would have been really good at playing Junior in Torque just because him and Fredro Starr look so much alike.

If you think OG Loc should be shot in GTA:IV make this your sig.

i to be honest think if he didnt get killed he would rival denzel washington to get his roles.

But they usually give oscars to people for acting not going on camera and behaving how you do every day. Tupaac could not act anything different than a thug, which he did good but lets not kid ourselves here he was a one trick pony.

Huh?

This movie showed that he had some depth and versatility to his acting, unlike most rappers who try to act.

No offense to Fredro but I'd like to think had Pac lived and continued to pursue his acting career, he'd be working on more interesting roles than some bit part in a flick like "Torque".

The one thing that seemed to be happening with his acting career, post-prison, was he was avoiding playing the typical characters they would hand rappers. A lot of his early films were just variations on the Bishop character and his perceived public persona. With Gridlock'd and Gang Related, he seemed to be onto a new path with his choices in roles. I think he was en route to graduating to more light-hearted fare like comedic films or playing the romantic lead.

I've heard mention of Alonzo Harris in "Training Day" but I think that was Denzel's role. I feel one of Pac's more under-utilized skills as an actor was his sensitivity. Most rappers run from vunerability but Tupac embraced it. While I think he would have been the best rapper-turned-actor in the game today(except for maybe, Latifah), I still think Denzel is in a class all his own. Pac's lack of size and youthful looks would have made him a tough candidate for a role like Alonzo that requires something of an experienced hard-edged cop.

I could easily see him in the 'Matrix' films (alongside friend Jada Pinkett). I'm not sure if he would do well in the Matrix-world, but maybe as an operator or a soldier back in Zion.

Yeah that's a great one, I could imagine 2Pac playing Alzono Harris.

Hmmm... You are truly a wordsmith . Has anyone ever told you that you are the Shakespeare of our time? I hope you don't mind, but at my wedding I'm going to do a soliloquy, and I'm going to use your inspiring words. I'll say, "he be great instead of mos def, hes voice is annoying, be interesting as alzono Harris in training day too. I love you. Insert additional broken English here". There won't be a dry eye in the whole place. My god you are eloquent. Its like you were born with a silver tongue. By the way, yo wan be me best man? you say to people speech very good fun time? If not, it's no big deal.
However, if you're busy, can you see if Borat or Balki from "perfect strangers" is available?

Don't take life, or yourself too seriously.
