HELP: Is this a good movie?

I just finished reading the book for English and I loved it! =)
Well, I really want to see one of the movies based on it so I was wondering which one I should see. Is this one good? or should I maybe see another adaption??
Thankss in advance!

Many elements from the book are missing, but the basic storyline between Fin and Estella remains.
This movie is a visual masterpiece and is more than worth watching.
On the other hand, watching a movie after reading the book, is always a compromise given that your imagination is the best actor, the best director etc.
I enjoyed the film but reading the book was a distant memory so had no (negative) effect on my judgement.

PS. Just watch it!
As long as you believe it, it is true.

I first saw this film right after reading the book. I felt confused and a little frustrated because this film does not follow the book closely at all. If you want a faithful adaptation, look elsewhere. But if you want to see a wonderful film that is loosely based on the book, this is the movie for you. Think of it like a picture based on a symphony or a dance based on a sculpture. Sure, there are important elements of the stories that are very similar but I think it makes sense to think of the movie and the book as two different stories.

I was disappointed but I love the movie now. For me, the movie was very powerful and it took a few viewings before I could fully appreciate it. Perhaps I also needed time for my memories from the book to fade.
