dont you just love....
how green this movie is????
shareHow come noone answered this question? lol
I did love the use of green in this movie. It was very beautiful indeed.
Any other movie that gives as much importance to color?
Anyone?
The movie 'Hero' also uses color a lot, but not one in particular.
My girlfriend and I found it jarring - over the top use of green for no payoff (that we could tell). Just the director (?) taking too much of a personal liberty.
If there was a story element or thematic reason beyond the director's ego, I'd like to know about it.
Half expected Kermit the Frog to appear in the pond at the end.
Gorgeous film, the green is enchanting.
shareThe DP and Director explain it, e.g. there's no logical explanation:
"Cuarón, along with director of photography Lubezki, Burrough and Makovsky, chose a style for the film that Cuarón describes as "believable, but with its own set of rules." One rule surprised even this experienced filmmaking team: everything is green. "There's no logical explanation. It's just a color that I love and have used in all my previous films," explains Cuarón. Following their director's lead, the cast and crew made a point of regularly wearing the color. Even famed designer Donna Karan, the so-called "queen of black," designed Gwyneth Paltrow's wardrobe in shades of green. And the 150 extras appearing in a gallery scene were told to wear a combination of black and green."
