Scariest movie ever

When you take the ideas and themes presented in this film, it gives us a very scary glimpse of the future. Imagine a world where everybody is genetically perfect. There would be no competition, no sports. There would possibly be no terrorism or crime, but would anyone be happy? It's like communism, if everybody is equal, then what is the point of succeeding and trying? It's a a very scary glimpse of the future, one that some people, such as myself, would not be able to stop thinking about. I'm all for scientific advancement, so don't get the wrong idea, but like Jurassic Park, just because you CAN do something, does it mean that you SHOULD?

This movie is probably the most realistic science fiction film ever, and because it is so thought-provoking, it is, in my opinion, the scariest movie of all time.

Does anyone feel the same way?

"What is the airspeed velocity of an unladen swallow?"

there would be all of those things, even if the things in this movie came true

It's an awesome movie
But the takeaway isn't that there is no competition anymore
It's that things like human will and competitive spirit still matter
The swimmer ended up not being first and couldn't handle it psychologically. Meanwhile a guy everyone said couldn't do it showed the power of the human will and human spirit

It also shows that even in this hypothetical future you still shouldnt discriminate or have prejudice. You can't engineer determination and you can't rank people, that free will and hard work and sheer will matters a lot

Pick up a copy of the novel "A Brave New World" if you like the concepts. Even more interesting is that was published in 1931. Eugenics was a popular concept at the time until it became associated with the Nazis.

You did not really focused on the movie did you?
No such thing as perfection, everybody is aproximation, even our perfect men has a score of 9,8 at birth so it is safe to assume that there are people (albeit very few) who are 9,9 or even 10s. Also gene manipulation gets better with time, 9,3 from 60 years ago could be only 8,5 according to constantly increasing standards of society. We can even see it in the movie 9,8 at birth but after thirty years he is 9,3! Competition is fierce in every aspect of life not only sports.
just because you CAN do something, does it mean that you SHOULD?

Please go to a person who suffers from genetic illnes and tell them "I am not sure if we should treat genetical flaws" .
