I saw a bit from this movie, the famous rewind scene-bit, and I laughed quite a bit at it.
That brings me to the question: is this just a downright terrifying movie or does it have some darkly comedic elements?

It's definitely a satire. I think I remember reading that Haneke didn't intend for this to be a thriller. I wouldn't say it's laugh-out-loud funny, but it's got a morbid sense of humor.
