If you like this film, i also recommend some other comedies that were set in Northern England, such as :

Rita, Sue and Bob too

Billy Elliot

Swing ( Hugo Speer is also in that ).

Anyone know of any others ?. Also are there any Americans here who have seen any of these films i mentioned ?. Please let me know if you see them. As i mentioned on another thread, i wondered what Americans thought of this film too.

Withnail & I is a film about two Londoners who go on a holiday to the North of England ( I think... can't remember, haven't watched it in a while). Quite amusing, golden oldie 8)

The finest film ever set in northern england IMHO is "Brassed Off" . If you've never seen it I strongly recommend that you do so without delay.

Billy Elliot is another of my favourite movies, along with the Full Monty.
