I really like Mark Addy (Dave)!!!

"Dave" was my absolute favorite character in this movie. I thought he was so sexy, cute, and sensitive. What I liked about him, was that I felt he was the only guy who realized what women go through, constantly being judged for our looks.

I liked the scene where all the guys are at Gerald's house, in the tanning bed, riding the exercise bike, etc. They are looking at pictures of women in magazines and all the guys are criticizing her. One of the guys even says that her t--s are too big.

Then, Dave says something like how he hopes the women are more forgiving and understanding when they come to watch them dance. And, it just hit me...sometimes men can be very critical about every little thing on a woman. And, in turn, women worry about and stress about every thing on them. It's a lot of pressure!!!

And, Dave realized that.... And he's hoping that the women aren't going to look at him and think "ugh, he's too fat." (when, in actuality, Dave was NOT fat, he was just a big dude, but much sexier and more attractive than some of the other guys).

Even though someone already mentioned this part on this board, I absolutley love when his wife tells him "me Dave, I do" about seeing him strip. She loves her husband!! She thinks he's cute and sexy, no matter what!! I just love that part.

I really liked Mark Addy after I saw this movie. It was the first move I ever saw him in. For awhile, he was on a TV show in the US with...can't remember her name...was it Jami Gertz??? He used an American accent in that show. Although, I didn't like the show itself all that much, I watched it every week to see my adorable Mark Addy!!!!

He was great and he had my favorite line in the movie.

Gaz: Were on in two days time where the *beep* are you?

Dave: I'm here, working, earning, that's where. Not pissing about...End of chat.

Its really just the "end of chat" part, makes me lol everytime.

I agree with everything here :-)

The part where his wife tells him "me Dave, I do" about seeing him strip, and when she and her girlfriends scream and cheer as he removes his shirt has me in tears every time!

Peter: What did *I* do?
Mike: I don’t know, man, but don’t do it again!

I also like those scenes very much. Yesterday and today I watched the movie again and I laughed so hard that I had to take my blood pressure to make sure it was ok. 

each scene where Dave is shown struggling with his confidence touches me, but the "me, Dave. i do." conversation has me in tears EVERY time i watch this movie (and, no word of a lie, that's got to be in the hundreds by now). i LOVE Dave, i find him incredibly sexy, and i wish he'd hear his wife's "big man" for the endearment she means it as.

i spent 20-some years dating Guys and Gazzes and was very ho-hum over them all, but the minute i found myself a Dave, i knew i was going to marry him! in just over a month, i'll be mrs. big man :D

He is very attractive, cute face, and he has what I've always considered the best line in the movie, when he says, "anti fat bastard cream there aint!" Many of his line deliveries are pretty brilliant.

I am starting to watch Game of Throne now and it is a nice treat to see Addy in here!!!

Another scene where Dave is really adorable is when the guys have gone to see Gerald at his dance class. While they're talking to Gerald, Dave is playing with a plastic ring and gets it stuck on his hand. He's trying to pull it off, but when he notices Lomper watching him he puts his hand down and sheepishly tries to look like nothing is going on. Then Gaz looks at him and down at the ring and Dave just looks at him like, "What"? I can rewatch that over and over.
