Nicholas Lyndurst and Rik Mayall for the part of Gaz.

According the trivia both of them were considered for the role of Gaz, I always wondered how both of them would have portrayed the role. I think if Lyndurst had been in the role, I think it would have been completely a different script. In his career I've never heard Lyndurst utter a single swear word... well apart from the odd "Crap" in Only Fools if you count that.

Mayall I've not sure about, capable of playing both comic and serious roles but at the time he might have considered The Full Monty to be a step backwards, considering at the time he was doing well for himself. Doing a few films in America, a few stage shows for Bottom... The role of Gaz not sure.
