What do you think happened after?

What do you think happened after the freeze frame at the end? Did they rush off the stage, or did they dance a little more first? I loved how they were all so confident, making eye contact with the audience and enjoying themselves. Such a contrast to when they were performing in front of Horse's family in rehearsal. Did the single fellows get dates or girlfriends as a result of the show?

And thinking a little further, did they have to come off the dole because they earned money? And what of the money they made? There were 400 people so that's 4000 quid (I'm assuming they charged 10, that's what they discussed but I don't remember if that's what was on the poster). If they got to keep all of that money, divided by 6 it's roughly 666.00, not enough for Gaz's 700.00 quid arrears on maintenance. Maybe the other guys each contributed a little to make up the difference. But what about going forward, how's he going to keep paying? Did Mandy ever ease up on Gaz?

Did they all stay friends afterwards? Was Gerald able to get them jobs with his new employer? I'd like to think something good came out of it for all of them.

I wonder, did Guy get a job with the Chippendales? Because while the others were still varying degrees of stiff, Guy was a pretty good dancer at the end. Did he and Lomper stay together?

Gah, makes me wish we could've gotten a sequel. I guess the most important question is: did Gerald get a stiffy?

I'm sure they stayed friends as they bonded more and more as a group as the film went on. The money wouldn't last long for any of them. Maybe they went on tour?

I think that maybe that's a possibility. We all know the aftermath was left up to the viewer.

I'd like to think that everything worked out well for the guys, but who knows.

In answer to your last question: only with Beryl.

Dave and Jean stayed together quite happily. He wrote a best-selling novel about the escapade.

Gaz put his prison-earned tailoring skills to good use and created a line of clothing for male exotic dancers.

Guy did, indeed, get a job with Chippendales, but he and Lomper also opened a b&b that was quite successful.

Gerald and Beryl enjoyed a brief fling but remained good friends.

Horse replaced Austin Powers as the spokesman for (ahem) enlarger pumps.

The place went black and the credits rolled. And some music played.

It was a very short show too. They danced to just one song and got their knobs out. Once you do that you cant top it so I guess the show ended there.

I’ve recently had my love for this film reignited. I can’t help but want to imagine a future for these characters. I think it’s reasonable to imagine it, seeing as a future is strongly alluded by Gerald: Maybe he can get the others a job at his new workplace – it’s probably the most hopeful small moment of the film. I like to think he can make good on that for at least a couple of them.

I definitely think they are all bonded for life. “Fire-forged friends” as TV Tropes would put it. They’ve been on this bizarre "adventure" together and conquered it. Lomper and Guy’s romance is one thing, but look how close Gaz and Gerald got in such a short space of time, having loathed each other a couple of weeks beforehand. Gaz and Dave even support Lomper at his mum's funeral. I don’t think Gerald and his wife will reconcile, but they will be ok individually. I wonder how long Gerald and Gaz will be roomies for...I can imagine them having a rather hilarious odd-couple type set-up, with Nathan popping in and rolling his eyes at their inevitable hi-jinks. A movie in itself!

Dave and Jean’s marriage will have a new lease of life and another honeymoon period – after she forgives him for literally running out on his security guard job at her workplace... with stolen goods!

In regards to Gaz and Nathan...Both have shown their love for each other in actions, not just words, and neither will tolerate being further separated. Mandy was at the striptease to cheer Gaz on, showing a change of heart. A dialogue will be opened between them so they can come to terms. Ultimately, I think Gaz’s level of custody will just stay the same even if he can’t make quick enough child support payments. I think he’ll make an effort to pay *something* to chip away at his debt, especially to refund Nathan’s £100 contribution. He will also grit his teeth and make an effort with Mandy’s husband for Nathan’s sake.

Short term at least, they are all local celebs and any pub they go into, they’ll have beer bought for them (saving money!) They may be able to get more money selling the story to the press. Things will always be tough financially but I like to think when a job comes up that means they’ll be better off than on the dole, all of them would take it. Overall, they’ve had a morale boost, which will help kick them all into further action.
