Where was the Mexican Restaurant?

Everytime I watch this movie, I always want to go to that restaurant. Please say its not fictional. There are very few places in vegas to get decent mexican dishes. Anyone know what the name and address of the place is if it exist?

I read a review of Mexican reataurants located in Las Vegas and one of the reviews claimed that this was the loacation used for the movie.

Viva Zapata's

702-643-8888, 3826 E Craig Rd, North Las Vegas, NV

Thanks, I always said that place looked good.

My question is why he has about twenty dishes on the table in front of him?

First of all thank you Bobkorth for the location of the restaurant. I have been trying to find out if it was in Vegas or not, for some time!.

I think Matthew's character at that point of the movie, didn't know what he wanted in life, this is shown by his inability to order just one dish from the menu. I thought it was symbolic.

Well...if memory serves Alex was taking notes as he eats. I always assumed it had something to do with the club he was building. And I believe Donna, the admin, said to him, when he was leaving to go to the restaurant, that 'everyone tries to get him', referring to the chef of the restaurant and Alex replied to the effect of 'i'll never know if I don't try'.

This is one of my favorite movies of all time.

ive seen this movie about 30 times and the reason he has all the food on the table in front of him is because he is checking out menu items for the new club..notice him taking notes at the table?

actually the notes he was taking were not the menu or anything like that. He was writing down what Isabel was saying, about how to get to her grandmothers house. These are the directions he uses later on to try and find her.

The scene in the Mexican restaurant where Matthew Perry's character has all those plates in front of him he is taking notes on what type of foods might be good to serve at the new club he is about to open. He is not taking notes on Isabel because they havent met yet.

You should probably watch the movie

He is evaluating the food. Likely he is checking texture, presentation, moisture, appearance and taste. He may decide he would like a Mexican section in the club's menu. He might even offer the cook a job.

It's NOT Viva Zapata's. I travel to Vegas frequently for work, a huge fan of this movie and have been there many times. A great restaurant but definitely not the one in the film. I wish I could find out where it is, I think I may have been there in the early 2000's.
