Wow, what an uninformed statement!
Firstly "races" don't truly exist. What you refer as "White People" are actually over 40 ethnically diverse groups who in many cases who while have radically divergent ethnic/cultural/religious/genetic backgrounds.
Second, the mainstream North American culture (Which most people refer simply to as "white people") is one of the most inclusive cultures in the world. Now, there are notable exceptions not to mention extremely dark historical periods. Compare if you will with the average Asian or even middle-eastern culture and you will find that North America and Europe are really the only places in the world where people from radically different cultural and societal backgrounds can succeed and grow.
Study a bit of history, and a lot of current affairs and realize that while you face discrimination which is unacceptable, you can't point a finger at a group of people who have pale faces and say that they are the source of all your problems.
Most of us are. Just don't get in our way.

actually its isobel who is the worst of the two characters. she basically slept with alex, and then disappeared for 3 months, and then shows up and says "im pregnant, its yours, now stay out of my life". she probably got knocked up by some other guy and then came crawling back to alex. he said he used a condom, and its job is to work, so i doubt that he's actually the father. i mean alex was a nice guy, who actually liked isobel and stuck by her. i think you got it all wrong.
shareEveryone has their shortcomings. Alex is a good person, but he has no concept of what close families are (at least, not at the beginning). The fact of the matter is, he's better off once Isabel changes him. It's not really her job or responsiblity to do it, but it's not as though it's a bad thing.
And Isabel.. she learns to compromise and not be so stubborn. They learn from each other.

I think he was still getting used to the difference in the cultures. I wish I had the family ethics that Isabels family shows in this. Family was everything to them.
Perry's role was perfect to deal with the change in his life. And his parent's showing up like they did was perfect. And it is a movie, for gawd's sake!
Both main characters are unlikeable, but I liked Alex more. Salma's acting was quite bad in this film.
