So it's a remake of The Hidden?

Other than some tweaks... Or am I missing something?

Yea, I was describing "the hidden" to someone and they kept citing this film. In the end, I concluded this must have been a remake and came here to check!

The Hidden wasn't the first to do body jumping. Pretty much any movie with excorsims has got body-jumping.

This movie makes me think of The Hidden indeed, but also of Shocker

I thought of the H.P. Lovecraft story The Thing on the Doorstep. Though in that story there is the added element of "consciousnesses swapping" which makes for interesting results.

Check out the story here: http://www.dagonbytes.com/thelibrary/lovecraft/thethingonthedoorstep.htm

It is true that I have sent six bullets through the head of my best friend, and yet I hope to show by this statement that I am not his murderer.

Great opening sentence to draw you in as to what the hell's going on here.

There are other similarities in respects, in this story the unnamed evil that is possessing others is said to prefer intelligent but weak-willed minds as they are easier to possess, much like what describes the narrator's friend in the story and also has a caveat like this film does in that the evil entity, whatever it is, CAN be destroyed, but must be done by burning the body after the host is killed. The story ends hanging with the narrator finding that autopsies wanted to be done on his friend and the body will not be burned just yet, making him anxious and feeling hints of attempted possession.

No.

Try Stephen Gallagher's Valley of Lights. I like Fallen but was really surprised it was down as an original screenplay
