Watching it again, and it never really hit me before just how absolutely hopeless and tragic the whole story is. And the bad guy, the crazy-ass psycho-f$%# demon, WINS in the end. How utterly horrible. 10/10

Yeah, I just watched it again for the first time since I saw it. It really is a dark/bleak movie.
That didn't quite strike me the first time. I mean, I knew it was dark, no happy ending... but it was even darker the second time around.
Watching it right now, cant sleep loved it the first time and all the other times Ive seen it. it is brilliant!

shareI’d say it’s actually too dark. Not the ending, but having a sweet, harmless mentally handicapped man injected in the back of his neck with poison in his sleep, killing him and orphaning his young son - all just to spite Hobbes because they’re his family.
That’s pretty disturbing for a fun, silly genre piece. It’s more the kind of content you’d get in serious cinema. Hell, even The Exorcist never went that low and had a happy ending!
