Question about Mel Gibson..
Why isn't Mel Gibson properly credited in the actor's list in the movie? (didn't he want to show his name?!)
shareWhy isn't Mel Gibson properly credited in the actor's list in the movie? (didn't he want to show his name?!)
shareNo, he didn't like the film when he saw so asked that they remove his name from it. He even tried to sue them for misleading him because he thought the movie was going to be more serious.

You are right eStreetBeat about the dubious nature of black....'s comment. I wonder, did he think this was a comedy. I don't see how the film could have handled the subject more seriously or with such thoughtfulness. Oh well.
Just wanted to let you know that I saw a short piece, on the History Channel, about the real life cousins that this film is about and in it they state that Mel actually bought the camera's that the girls took the second set of photos with. So this probably had a hand in his wanting to be involved with this film.
As others on this page have stated actors very often do uncredited cameos. Very often this is as a favor to the makers of the film and it usually, though not always, means that they didn't get paid, again emphasizing the FAVOR nature of there doing this.
I'll make a good Gordon, Gordon!
> Mel owns the film's production company
Yes. Icon is Mel's company. And one of the producers of "Fairy Tale" was Bruce Davey, who's definitely "Mel's guy." He also produced "Man Without a Face," "Braveheart" and "The Passion of the Christ," among many other movies.
I doubt that's it. There are quite a lot of movies in which well known actors have uncredited cameos.

What about Bill Murray in Tootsie, where he has quite a large, uncredited role?
shareMel Gibson didn't think that the movie was SERIOUS enough? How serious can you get with a movie about fairies? I mean, PLEASE.
Fairies are hard things to deal with. Maybe he didn't like that they made it look like the fairies are real or something...
Someday, we'll look back on this, laugh nervously, and change the subject.
Actually faries are quite serious- they orginate from greecian myths and are linked to the underworld (aka Hades) and in ancient times stepping in a fairy ring or offending the "good folk" could get you and your whole family killed.I think Mel is to be commended for a truly good movie about them.
shareBill Murray is credited in Tootsie. He's the seventh person listed in the credits (6th, if you only count Dustin Hoffman once).
