Sasha seemed to trust Castor Archer more than Castor Troy.

When Castor Sean says he's Castor Troy she doesn't believe him. I know that's because none of Troy's people knew about what happened, but it almost seems like after his effort to help them out in the penthouse, all the Troy people probably would have respected him even if they found out. It's like he earned her trust on another level by protecting the kid. I dunno, I guess to buy into this perspective you have to see the movie like 15 times in order to gather all these little things about what happens during that portion of the movie. I get that she just thought it was Castor Troy, but I also believe if she found out Castor Sean ambushed them, she'd still have backed up Castor Archer.

I wasn't sure if she had witnessed Castor as Sean shooting him. For some reason I didn't get the impression she was pissed at him for leaving, I'm gonna have to go back and watch again. This appears to be one of those movies where I watch it and learn something new every time!

Did he make that promise when she was laying on him after the final shootout? I just figured with the way she talked with Sean Archer in the interrogation room that if she found out about the switch she'd turn on him. I dunno, something about when she arrives as his backup I got the impression she was now backing whatever cause he was behind even if he wasn't Castor Troy, and not because she's just a follower either. I guess I'm just reading way too much into this, I dunno!

Oh I figured it out now. You're talking about when he says no matter what happens Sean Archer is off your back for good or however he said it. I'm curious if that meant with Castor Troy out of the way he wouldn't feel a need to go after her, or if it was because by spending time with her he discovered she was actually a good mom and didn't really feel a need to use threats to her custody as a bargaining chip.

Do you think by bringing Adam into his home it was a way to fill the void of losing Michael, or that it was also a way to stick it to Castor?

I also assume he may resemble Castor at some point in life, though I have to assume that what draws Archer to the kid is that he reminds him of his son. The reason I bring that up is because when Rae Carruth, who played for the Carolina Panthers, was involved in the death of the woman carrying his child (who they saved), her mom ended up raising him. I saw her in an interview. She said the kid looks a lot like his dad, and that basically in order to love him at all, she had to forgive Carruth.

Did you miss where she slaps Cage/Archer and says, "When you left you never looked back."?

I'm happiest...in the saddle.

Yeah I hadn't seen it in a while and forgot the first thing she did was knock him out, and that when he wakes up they talk about it a bit more. So the only thing I heard while watching was the part where she said she never told anyone Adam was his, almost like she understood why he disappeared. Seeing that she was pissed at him changes that though.

I still keep watching trying to determine if she figured any of it out or not.

Well you said it yourself.

In a similar, but completely opposite vein, Castor Troy connected better with Jamie, so much so that she shoots Castor Archer in the end to protect "her father".

I thought this was a cool theme in the movie. Where the fake Archer was getting closer to Archers daughter than the real. Same goes to Troys son and Sasha. Both characters were taking some people for granted, yet nearly the opposites of themselves were able to appreciate it those taken for granted. Even though I'm sure Troy just wanted to sleep with her.

This sort of stuff comes up quite a bit in John Woo's movies..

She instinctively knew Castor Archer (or Nicholas Travolta?) was the better man.

Well in the final showdown in the church when everyone begins shooting Sasha kind of covers Eve and pushes her to the ground to save her from gunfire. I dunno exactly what that means, but when I saw it I was wondering the same thing as you, did she know what was really going on?

Maybe her fight being with either Archer or Troy and she didn't wanna do anything to his family. As wicked as Castor Troy was, even he seemed upset when his shot hit Michael. I think he would later though, since he seduced Eve knowing their marital problems and licked Jamie's face so Dad had to picture himself doing it.
