I love that part 

So did Dietrich.

You just made me remember how much I loved that part!

I'm sorry, why exactly is that funny? It's even less funny now since Travolta's son in real life died.

reply

Excuse me, but you seem to have forgotten this is just a movie. I didn't even know about his son, I just thought the delivery on that line was hilarious.

reply

Excuse me, I haven't at all forgotten this is just a movie, I just don't find it funny. It just shows what a scumbag Dietrich is, nothing more.

reply

I know, but you sound like a bit of a dick when you say we shouldn't laugh at it because of a real-life event unrelated to the movie.

reply

You shouldn't laugh at it no matter what, sorry if that makes me sound like a bit of a dick.

reply

That's right. That's why in the Ben stiller episode of "extras" when Ben said to Goran "stop going on about your *beep* DEAD WIFE" I turned off in absolute disgust. No need.

i did not find it funny, and i don't believe it was meant to be anything other than introducing that character and show that he's pretty much pure evil if he's capable of taunting Archer where it hurts the most. it was more of an "oooooh..." moment mostly. and it's quite a while into the movie before we see Dietrich again so that was probably to make him quite unforgettable.
