Faceless Castor - goof?

When we see Castor awake he still has his eyelids, nose, and lips, but we're led to believe that they should be gone given the procedure. But when we see him in the reflection of the doctor's glasses, it appears to be just Nic Cage with blood covering his (intact) face. Shouldn't he look pretty much like an exposed skull?

"Wasn't Einstein German?"
"Hard to tell from his accent, Russ."

Yea I guess they didnt want people to think too much of it. It was such a quick scene~

Um that's your complaint? How about the fact that they both would have died from tissue rejection or the fact that Archer has blood type O- yet is wearing the face of someone with blood type AB, or the fact that Castor never would have been able to get to the phone or would have passed out very quickly or bled to death or the fact that no one even thought to just handcuff him to the bed.

Derek_Smart You do realize the human face has muscle tissue underneath, they just took the outer skin off and not the entire face with muscles intact....big difference. No, he would not look like an exposed skull....just very beefy like you see in the movie....go look up an anatomy book. As far as lips, your lips aren't just skin either. He still would've had his orbicularis oris(kissing muscle) muscle despite his outer lips being missing, his lips are still there to some degree hence why he talked so weird. The human nose is mostly bone and cartilage so his nose wouldn't be missing either lol. Man, you really need to learn about human anatomy before coming on here and criticizing a film for "inaccuracies" lol. That scene was more realistic than you realize and they hire medical advisors for these films all the time.
