It took me forever to rent this on VHS!

I was stationed on a military base on the outside of Tokyo from 97-99. I distinctly remember going to the bland, brown Yokota Video Rental over and over again trying to rent Event Horizon. This would have been late 97/early 98. The Yokota Video Rental store was a huge deal back then, I live outside the gate and the only TV I could get was a brand new Direct TV satellite, and still I was only able to get about 5 decent channels(Discovery Intl, MSNBC, HTV, a couple of other bland stations). Also, back then Japan had a Direct TV commercial that had multiple Arnold Schwarzennegers dressed as Terminator(the T2 version of Arnie). I think they got sued by Arnie for using his likeness.

Anyway, back to my attempt to rent Event Horizon, one night I went into the store, I immediately saw it was on the shelf in back but by the time I got there another guy had already grabbed it! Eventually(haha), I did get a hold of it, the funny part is I never even watched the whole thing it was so boring to me lol. Fond memories of the Yokota Air Base version of Blockbuster!
