Why did Erica have a boy's room?

Just finished watching this on Netflix and the last scene made me wonder why Erica's room was decorated like a boy's room. She had a model car on the headboard and baseball sheets. There was nothing girly about the room at all. It looked as if the room belonged in a different movie. Or, did they go up to his room and I missed that part?

that was his rooom. remember they were in his driveway at the end

Oh, right, it was his driveway. The cutaway was pretty quick, so I must have missed it.
