Crude, misleading synopsis

The popular synopsis of this movie sounds very crude, venal and misleading. It goes something like "A NY cop unwittingly hosts an IRA assassin..."

That's not really the tenor and content of the movie. Yes, Harrison Ford is not aware of Brad Pitt's past, and he inadvertently does get involved in Pitt's dealings with arms sellers.

But Pitt is a highly sympathetic, even likeable character, despite his brutal background, which itself is the result of seeing his family murdered.

The word "assassin" to override everything else about Pitt and the movie as a whole, is quite inappropriate.

A better synopsis might be "A NY policemen hosts a young visitor from Ireland, unaware of the individual's history of being involved in IRA militancy"
