so, what does the name of the movie refer to, anyway?
I think it's about how the character Brad Pitt plays is connected to the devil..how he sought revenge and all. I don't really know, though. It's just a guess. Could somebody help me out here? Thanks a lot.

It is an idiom for a very difficult task. The each had their tasks to complete, but their friendship made those jobs very difficult because they were conflicted.
