I hated Harrison Ford in this:

Some weeks ago I was listening to a radio program hosted by the Atheist Communit of Austin Texas. Dennis Loubey (not sure If I spelled his last name right) mentioned on the show that he hated Harrison Ford in this and I totally agreed. I finally heard someone else hate his character for the exact same reason I did.

He was a SELF RIGHTEOUS JERK. He was not a part of the world that the younger Irishman he befriended was, and who the hell was he to pass those judgements. I was rooting for Bradd Pitt all the way in this and he should have just let the guy complete his mission. I hated the ending because the wrong man died.

I think the point of the movie was they were from different worlds, Ford, an American cop believing in rule of law and order, Pitt an Irish soldier believing in the ends justifies the means.

Fords character pissed me off ,too....and yeah for being a self righteous hypocrite pussy....quite surprised he did not sell out his partner

... who happened to have this thing about not murdering people and not gun-running arms and missiles. Yeah, funny that!

As one of the other posters above says, the whole point of the movie is to show that though Tom and Frankie are from different worlds and fight completely different battles on opposite sides of the law, they had plenty of things in common too.🐭

After watching the film again, I can´t understand the ending, or better said, why Ford says what he says at the end of the film. He compares himself to Brad, saying that they didn´t have chances, I don´t understand this. They are both from Ireland, but their worlds are really different, this is why I can´t understand why he says so.

I believe he meant that they became what they were simply without a choice. And perhaps they didn't get the chance to really know each other, without their circumstances getting in the way of a real friendship.
