Captain Atherton
Atherton was a good stand up guy and you'd hope he'd make it to the end but you have to feel sorry for the guy the manner in which he was killed off.
Leg folded up to his head and swallowed up by the creature.
Note how Hollywood has the annoying habbit of killing off your favourite characters because they are a Capatain, the scientist etc...
