His Best
Anyone else think this is Woody's best movie?

Yes indeed. Just re-watched it last night - only one to come close is Stardust Memories

After Manhattan and maybe Husbands and Wives it's there at #3 or #2. I saw it when I was 14 and it really influenced me as a writer and filmmaker since then. I've probably watched it 20 times and could watch it right now.
Watch my new short film Lines of Glory (NR): http://www.youtube.com/jackandzackfilms
Honestly, this is one of my ALL TIME favorite movies;very closely mirrors my own life, without the Jew content of course.
shareI didn't enjoy this movie. I liked it, cuz it's Woody, but the story was pretty dull, the Harry-character had traits but lacked depth, I however took comfort in the message that says if you wanna be a decent citizen you have to get accustomed to the world and don't expect the world to get accustomed to you.
shareI agree with west-travel. I couldn't enjoy it as much as I usually enjoy some of Woody's other movies. At least to me, there's nothing much original about it (the way Annie Hall is, for instance), also it didn't have the same energy and loveliness and emotional core that I find in many Woody Allens, but then its probably just me!
shareMaybe not his best, but one of them, and a film that is very underrated.

Like top 5 or 6 for me; gut-wrenchingly funny; the last time Woody Allen really acted; and all the prudish critics of this movie can go to hell.:)
When life gives you lemons, make Limoncello.
