critics call a new Woody Allen film 'his best in twenty years', or something to that effect (e.g. Match Point or VCB). It's like everyone has somehow forgotten about this movie - one of Allen's masterpieces, IMO - which is only ELEVEN years old.
shareI agree. Vicky Cristina Barcelona was good but I can think of several other movies that Woody has made over the last twenty years that were better including Deconstructing Harry.
shareI agree. This is better, as is "Husbands and Wives" and "Crimes and Misdemeanors." Honestly, I don't think Woody's really had an "off" period, though of course some films I like more than others. People set their expectations extremely high, and when Woody tries something different, they whine.
