Who else thinks this is the funniest movie of all time?

I know what you're thinking, what a generic statement to say "______ movie of all time"

But I honestly think this is the one. I don't consider myself some hyberbolic leaning, haven't seen many films viewer - I'm well watched and grounded. It's just *beep* incredible how funny this movie is. Funnier than his 70s films due to the bitterness and edge/truth to it IMO, and maybe just funnier jokes. This should be appreciated more

It's hilarious, and definitely one of his funniest (which is saying a lot because virtually all of his films are laugh-out-loud hysterical). But I would still vote for Love and Death as being his absolute funniest.

Agreed my man!!!

It's genius.

Brilliant brilliant script.

'The most beautiful words in the English language are not ' I love you' , but, 'It's benign' '. GENIUS

I'm skeptical of categorical superlatives, and not too concerned with rankings either, but I'm having trouble trying to think of a film I find funnier than this.

Superduperspit, you're spot-on with the bitterness angle. It's what makes the gags punchy in DH. The "Max Pincus's Dark Secret" bit is a perfect caricature of passive-aggressive elderly couples. It gets me every time, and I must have watched this film ten times or more by now. "Don't you want some MEAT?!" Heheheheh.

So what are you making a fuss?!

It's Chinatown

The scene in Kirstie Alley's office when she's trying to multi-task her therapy session with telling off Woody is one of the funniest scenes ever committed to film. I lose it every time on that one. 😁

The first time I saw it on a big screen, I don't think I've ever laughed so hard.

Without a doubt one of the best of Woody's movies. So complex, it's really not for kiddies. But hysterical -- yes.

Love the part where he's taking the elevator to Hell, and Woody explains that the reason one guy has been banished to Hades was because he invented aluminum siding. For some reason this line slays me every time.

I see a thread here on imdB that lots of people don't know what aluminum siding is. So check the thread. There are several descriptions & explanations. Mainly, it's a cheap building material that is truly ugly. Ruined many beautiful old homes in suburban areas.

For those unfamiliar with the movie, Robin Williams plays a character who is completely out of focus throughout his performance. So much wild stuff in this movie.

Ι laughed very much and loved it

Great movie, one of Woody's most underrated.

It's funny for sure but amongst Woody's filmography I find Take the Money and Run, Love and Death & Zelig to be his funniest. This is maybe fourth funniest from what I've seen... that makes it one of the funniest movies ever of course.
