Interesting point I just noticed re the recording

So in my Xth viewing of the movie (X > 10 at least), I thought of something when Jodie Foster gets handed a digital camera capable of recording hundreds of hours of video.

Later Kitz plays a video where he shows Jodie Foster that all the camera recorded was "static" and she says she can't explain it.

Now here's the interesting thing -

1)

- Jodie's camera was recording as soon as she put it on while still on Earth so from Kitz perspective it should have showed the inside of the craft, the doors closing and the launch time approaching and the pod dropping and Jodie Foster falling out of the chair and appearing dazed and confused.

- Given that they confirm that the feed was being recd properly it should have all that video in the recording

- So even the most cursory examination of the recording would've easily showed this was all missing which means "something" (some process) or "someone" has wiped it out causing it to appear as static. Kitz would've known that as well as would Jodie and any tech examining that. Jodie should've really asked - where is all the recorded video of the craft etc.

- Even if the aliens "deleted" the video parts relevant, it should show the Jodie Foster video inside pod and final few mins of video as she is down. All the other parts of travel would've been cut out by the aliens. Since it showed only static, it is clear it was tampered with.

- side points - the video file should show tampering and should possibly be also encrypted with very strong encryption although the aliens would easily crack it.
The aliens screwed up by replacing the entire file with static instead of just the travel and meeting parts

- Even a slight time distortion in measurement of video length and actual time elapsed would clearly show it is out of sync (simple thing is the time on the camera would be out of sync - 18 hrs ahead). meaning if 9 mins passed from start of recording to end of recording it should exactly match timestamps as collected on Earth.
Even if off by 1 sec they will know something happened (time dilation at min for her in there)

2) Since the camera is digital, its storage medium would be some filesystem of some sort which means it should support filesystem attributes (attrs). This means they can just do an ls listing and view the attrs and see that there is a huge video file not possible for a few mins recording and that the length of the video file is 18 plus hours which should immediately have raised suspicion and possibility that she isn't lying.

I thought point 1 was very interesting (at least to me ;)

Your post is too long, but I got the gist of it.

Kitz knew she was telling the truth. He wanted to discredit her so the public would lose interest in the machine and they could go study it privately.
