How many years did this movie span? The editing makes it look like not much time went between but how many years did this movie go through? Was it explained in the book?
shareIf you discount when Ellie was 10, I'd say this movie spans 7 years of so. There's I'd say 1 year at Aricebo, the "4 years later" card after they moved from Aricebo to New Mexico, right before First Contact, then I'd guess about 2 years to complete the machine.
