What does the title "Cheun gwong tsa sit" mean in Cantonese?
There is also a very beautiful song by the same name sung by Leslie Cheung - a very beautiful melody.. I don't know the meaning of the lyrics since I don't understand Cantonese; to me it was still very beautiful in Leslie's voice. Anyone knows anything about that song? Thanks!
I don't know what songs you refer to,since I only impressed by "happy together" I didn't see (brokenback mountain),but this movie patrified me.I mean tony liang made out with leslie, touch.but I gotta to say, beyond these, they both are good actors,I mean, the scene is necessary.
What's so bad about them making out? Sure it's not something you'd see every day n a film but I don't find it offensive. (On the contrary, it was pretty hot =))
About the song, it's originally composed and sung by Anthony Wong Yiu Ming, a great Hong Kong singer, in 1995, and it's nothing to do with this movie, only that they used a same title. It's a big hit of the year in Cantopop. Leslie and Anthony Wong collabrated and made an EP called "Crossover" in 2003, which is Leslie last album before he died. They remixed the song and Leslie sang it.
The interesting thing is, according to Anthony, it's "Before Sunrise" that inpired him to write the song. The lyrics are very good, written by Lin Xi, one of the most fine lyricist in HK. Shame that my english ain't that good to translate it.:P But you could enjoy the melody as well.
I'll give it a try ... the lyrics is amazingly relevant to Happy together. I cannot believe how it was inspired though! It seems that the Cantonese hints without being as explicit.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------- You can feel the romance and peacefulness of the universe with your eyes, but it is nothing compared to gently exploring my body with your hands After the sun has risen, and your desire melted away will your expression still be as tender?
** This infatuating affection is fleeting, and how unbearable it is to waste the good (spring) time tonight What is to be shared and enjoyed, while you remain covered? The more the anticipation, the more the beauty. let the shortlived spring time takeover. Are we waiting for one thousand and one reincarnations, before we comfort one another?
Are we waiting for dawn, or are we quietly preparing? Let our lips reveal the unspeakable fascination! Perhaps we are looking for a perfect mate day and night, yet we are holding on the false hope, that time is on our side ...
Haven't visited this board in a while. Thanks to all who replied about the title and song. A big thanks to wcdleung who translated the song; that's very kind of you!
I am a Cantonese and "spring" associates with the meaning of "sex" in cantonese perhaps because chinese people(men) tend to use nice and pretty words concealing their flippant allusion to sex. (since spring means something good) so the whole phrase means "the inconscious exposure of your body like your breast/underleg area". it is usually used in a negative sense.
