Anyone know what's different about the Special Edition Kino version of this DVD? It apparently came out at the end of March in '09. If there's no significant difference, I think I'll just get the original Kino release. It's DVD cover is SOOOO much better.
Sorry, for the late reply, but the Special Edition version of the DVD is worth the extra money. It's digitally remastered, so the image is much, much better. There are also a lot of DVD extras that the original doesn't have, including a "making of" documentary that is an interesting film in its own right. It's almost Criterion Collection quality. If you're undecided on which DVD to purchase, I would definitely recommend the Special Edition.
Thanks for the response! I actually went ahead and bought the Special Edition version a few weeks ago without having read your comment. I'd read somewhere else that the film was digitally remastered, and I got over my superficial grudge about the DVD cover, which I've come to like...
