Details of Filming the Story?
On the DVD I got from Netflix there's an hour long "making of" feature titled "Buenos Aires Zero Degree". It's so highly edited though it prompted many more questions than it answered. It seems to say:
- the film team arrived in Argentina without a firm story in mind
- at least two other story lines (with the "gay" aspect greatly subdued or absent altogether) were fully shot
- there were "problems" shooting, including (but probably not limited to) some sort of problem with the local production company
- the shoot took much longer than planned, so much longer Leslie Cheung had to leave
- several of WKW's film team -which had been together for a long time- "left" the team, some even before shooting was complete
Implied is that the film took shape from scraps during massive editing; many of the scenes included in the final film were originally shot for something else.
That's lots of tantalizing questions. Can anybody shed more light on any of them?
