Sawyer's singing voice...

...was AWFUL. I'm not saying that Natalie Cole is a bad singer, but the singing voice and the speaking voice didn't match at all. The sudden jump of sound really put me off.

Oh, and I really don't know why everyone on this board is raving about this movie. It's mediocre. The animation was ok, not one of the songs were memorable, it wasn't funny, it was rushed (not that I wanted it to go on longer) especially when it came to Danny and Sawyer's relationship. Overall, a very mediocre movie that was trying too hard.

That's not even a pyramid anymore. What is that? A trapezoid?!

In response to your specific point, nowhere is it written that a person's singing voice must match their everyday one. For instance, have you ever heard Jim Nabors ("Gomer Pyle") sing? He's actually quite good, but you'd never guess from his normal voice.

In response to your general point: you're entitled to your opinion, and we're entitled to ours. :)

Between you and me, I think Jasmine Guy (Sawyer speaking voice) might have sung "Tell me Lies" while Natalie Cole sang "Nothin's Gonna Stop Us Now", as there is a distinct difference in how Sawyer sounds in "Lies" VS how she shounds in "Nothin' gonna stop us". Not horrible, but noticeable.

I noticed that change, too. I thought it was weird.

In regards to the starting topic.... it's a cult film, more or less. Some people really like, a lot of people really don't. I think it's better than some of the crap released, esepcially nowadays.

There are many people whom their singing voices dodn't match up to their speaking voices.

Christina Aguilera
Kelly Clarkson.

i think everyone's a bit too sobered to watch this movie. it's cutesey fluff warner bros style cartoon. people make the mistake of comparing it to disney, where everything is focused to be realistic. disney and cdd are excellent, but in two different leagues
