I read that this is supposed to set exactly in 1939.

Definetly 1939, as Gone with the wind is new at the movies during the toon. Laurel and Hardy and all is in it too.

You can see it says 1939 on the top of the page when danny is reading his script that says "MEOW".

Hmm...I'll have to keep a look out for that scene. Not to mention that Toto in standing in Dorothy's ruby slippers at one point in the movie, so I think it would have to be 1939.

I was thinking that the exact year was a little hazy, I would've said it was 1939 because of Gone with the Wind and Wizard of Oz but there was a scene where Sawyer was talking to King Kong, which came out in 1933, so I was a little confused.
