Since that this movie never got a proper sequel, this is my idea for one:
The sequel would be called "Cats Don't Strike," and it will follow Danny, Sawyer and their friends try to survive a labor strike at Mammoth Studios.
This I think would be a reference to the Disney Animator's Strike of 1941, only instead of Animators, it would be Animals.

If I were to do a sequel to this film, it might be about Darla Dimple getting over her hatred for animals, after she befriends and/or falls in love with that little boy who wanted her autograph at the premiere of "Little Ark Angel", ending up becoming a HERO in the end, by saving Mammoth Studios from being taken over by an evil businessman who has his OWN ideas as to what should happen to the studios (This COULD be after the animals go on strike which you mentioned in your idea...) :)
I like the idea. But the movie tanked financially.
