Ok, not having kids isnt a problem but given this movie theme was that the kidnappers had done this many times before, i doubt they always got it ideally just couples. Another thing is that Kurt Russel is in his mid 40s in this movie, so you would think he would have had a kid by then in this movie i mean for this character who was also mid 40s.
A lot of married couples don't have kids.
