'$90,000'

At the start of the movie, Jeff and his wife are talking about the prize of $90,000 or 90,000 doughnuts. Later when the crooks demand Jeff tell him how much he has in his bank account, they threaten him to tell the truth because his wife told them how much Jeff has in his account. Did Jeff tell them $90k because he thought his wife might have told them the same because they both recalled the doughnut convention?

reply

The wife had said $90,000 because she wanted to make out like they were rich to give herself more time alive, Kurt initially couldn't think of what number she'd said until the bad guy said something like "I knew she was lying, you ain't no doughnut king", then he remembered the doughnut packet from the car and that's why he said $90,000.

And that's why..... you always leave a note.

It's funny though they were acting like they owned some company, as if you'd only have $90k for owning a big company.
