About the money
As far as I can tell the bag of money was left in Earl's car at the truck stop. So I assume Jeff and his wife would maybe go back and retrieve it.
Also, how come none of the other kidnappers ever mention the money after the botched exchange? Yes I know there's the part where Red is talking to one of them on the phone and says Earl was supposed to be there half hour ago and to meet them at the barn but none of them never really mention anything about not having the money or about the plan failing.
