I knew the film would be solid thriller.
The opening credit was fantastic. Nothing too flashy but combined with its thrilling music, it setup the film perfectly.

Just saw if for first time since 1998, and the theme/score was perfect.
I'm a huge Breaking Bad fan, and I've seen a lot of films that show drew inspiration from, and I've no doubt it got some inspiration from Breakdown. The desert stuff, the tension, and the score was similar to Breaking Bad's opening theme...thrilling, deceptively simple.
It's a great thriller, totally underrated.
