this may be adumb question,but why was danny arrested in the first palce and sent to prison? did he kill someone.

shareI think the beauty of it is that you never find out exactly WHAT danny did to get arrested, maybe he was just found out as a member. We just know that he never gave names of other IRA members while incarcerated.
We also never meet Maggie's husband/Liam's father/Danny's best friend. I thought that was really effective, but also made me think for a moment that maybe Liam was Danny's son.

I think that was a very good part of the film, not knowing why he was arrested made him even more interesting
