So what is the IRA?

The Irish Republican Army? I'm sorry but I'm not an Irish resident so I have no idea what that part of the movie is about. First I thought they were the mafia, then I thought they were under martial law, then I thought they were protesters. The whole thing is kind of weird to see in a movie like this but it does add to the depth. I just wanna know what the IRA does and if it's still active.

If reincarnated,I'd return to Earth as a killer virus to lower population levels.

For pucks sake, I'm not from Ireland and I know what the IRA is (clue: it has nothing to with finances.) I'm 52, from California, and it was on the news all the time when I was a teenager. You have to live on Mars not to know. Google it or go to the library, better yet check out any number of movies about the IRA. Oh yeah, a little Crying Game wouldn't hurt either.
