LAUGHED MY ASS OFF WHEN DIRK WAS SHOWING AMBER HIS ROOM

It was so tedious. I've actually known someone like that who wouldn't shut up about all the new acquisitions in his life. Not imported Italian nylon, but... just self-centered crap that reminds me of my 3 year old nephew asking if I want to watch him play some game on his Commodore 64. Grow up already, Dirk.

His constant approval-seeking, like when Amber seemingly introduces him to coke very late in the game. He is not enjoying it, didn't want it, but what comes out of his mouth: "Do I look cool when I'm doing it?" Extreme portrait of externally identified approval.

But all of the above were certainly more entertaining than his untutored, toneless, amateur music performance. (Intentionally bad, I realize.)

I think I was too young at the time this movie came out but NOW... LOL omfg this movie is hilarious to me! Just a hysterical, even the William H. Macy character cracks me up (very dark comedy)
Omfg the acting is bad on purpose, the people are all dumb as dirt in this and now that I understand me th I'd acting it's genius and funny.

Everytime I see that scene, I think that bed looks so comfortable. And what 17 year old in the 70s wouldn't buy a Corvette if they could? As far as Amber and Rollergirl goes, I think they have more of a mother-child relationship than her and Dirk do.
