Connection To Johnny Cash
At the monster truck rally. The Band plays "Ghost Riders In The Sky". Go and listen to Johnny Cash's "(Ghost) Riders In The Sky" off a cd I found at Walmart entitled "16 Biggest Hits". You be the judge.

shareYeah I'm pretty sure its the same song, but I'm not sure if Cash wrote it though. But it is the same song--don't think the Man in Black had actual "Ghost Riders" though lol
shareThere is a CD of Johnny Cash that my Dad bought at Wal-Mart it has a song called "Ghost Riders In The Sky". On the Blues Brothers 2000 Soundtrack there's a song "Riders In The Sky (A Cowboy Legend)".

~*~ENJOY~*~
The song "(Ghost) Riders in the Sky" is a traditional country song that predates World War 2 and has been recorded by a large number of artists. The first big hit version of this song that I know of is Vaughn Monroe's version from the 1930's.
shareThe song was written in 1948 by Stan Jones (1914-1963). The most famous version was done, as noted above, by Vaughn Monroe. It's also been done by Burl Ives, Peggy Lee, Johnny Cash, Marty Robbins, Frankie Laine (who was also famous for the "Rawhide" TV Theme), Kay Starr, and the Sons of the Pioneers. More recently, it's been covered by REO Speedwagon and The Outlaws.
