Haven't Seen all of it but... (Poss. Spoilers, not sure though)

BB and BB 2000 were on AMC last night. I own the BB 25th Anniversary DVD and LOVE that movie. I've never see BB 2000 before, so I thought I'd watch it. Durning the opening credits I was getting excited seeing names from the first movie:
Aretha Franklin, James Brown, etc. and thought "How bad could it be?"

I never wanted to see BB 2000 before cause I thought it looked dumb and was a disgrace to the first. So I watched it up to about the part where Elwood started working at the strip club. Then I got bored and started flipping channels... when I came back to BB 2000 it was at the part at the fair where they were John Goodman, the kid, and Elwood were trying to sneak in. I thought it was stupid how Elwood's head was in the ashtray, and turned it off for good. I never really got to see any of the singing parts or Aretha Franklin or James Brown, just the nun from the first movie.

Based on the other comments written on this movie, I'm not too sure if I really want to watch it start-to-finish. So what I'm asking, how good is it compared to the first? I'm sure the music's good, but I'm also talking plot. (I can't even remember now what Elwood's new mission from God is.)

For me, I felt that the musical parts were really poor, not for the music or the singing though, perhaps the direction was bad or the heart wasnt really in it, as for the first movie, these parts are really stand out moments, in 2000, I felt like i had to fast forward after watching half of each song as they were just thrown in because "well, its a blues brothers movie, so we have to have some singing moments". In all, i really wish that i had never seen this movie and never even knew that it exsisted as the first is one of my favourites of all time.
