Why wasn't Ray Charles in the sequel?
I'm tempted to say because he knew it would be terrible but I must admit, a version of "What'd I Say" could have been great!

shareCommon sense? This was a real turkey, I'm afraid. Most of the best gags are ripped off from the original anyway.
Ray does get one sly reference though - they drive past Ray's music exchange at one point, which has changed into something else.
because even a blind man could see that it was *beep*
shareAccording to IMDB, in 1998, under "Actor", Ray Charles appeared of 4 episodes of THE NANNY as "Sammy", and under "Self", he appeared on three other things. Numbers 23-25.
"What time is Recess?"
I've been wondering about the same thing too. They had James Brown return, but not Ray Charles? Maybe they couldn't find a scene to fit him in the movie.
