Is anyone watching it on ITV1?

It is horrible! I loved the movie, i really did, but i can see why you didn't like it if you watched it on TV first. I could only bare from Aretha Franklin's appearance until the 634-5789 bit.

"Come On, There's Always room For Jello!"

I turned it on for about 10 minutes, then turned it off again.

These guys are certainly not on a mission from God.

I recorded it and I’m really glad I did. I gave me the chance to spin through some of the dross…and there was a lot of it. Dan Aykroyd looked liked he didn’t care and John Goodman looked like he cared even less than Aykroyd. The fun and sparkle of the original was gone. The film was just an attempt to do the same script but bigger and better which it totally failed to do on both counts. The car crash sequence was totally boring. Car after car crashing into one another with no attempt to make it look interesting. It went on so long I thought I was on slo-mo. The battle of the bands was just an attempt to put as many well known musicians on the same stage at the same time. Again there was no substance. Overall a total mess…and why did Aykroyd change his accent from the 1st film.

It seems to get shown on ITV4 nowadays. At least that's the channel that I've just seen it on. Loved Aretha and her soul sister trio belting out 'Respect.'

I think this film's saving grace (pardon the pun) is Elwood's character arc - as soon as he's entrusted with Buster, he basically begins to grow up and become a mature (somewhat) and responsible (somewhat) adult, something which would never have happened with Jake - that could have been the main plot instead of a loose remake of its predecessor.
