Question about the therapist and the wife
I posed this before and it seems to have been erased. When he caught his wife visiting the therapist were they actually having sex (and I mean by that the conventional definition)???? Anyone??

shareNo, I don't think they were having sex. She may have been masturbating, or she may have been role-playing. Although he was portrayed as a quack (and he was unlicensed), I never got the impression he would ever put his own needs ahead of those of his client. Having sex with her absolutely would have caused her more damage--one of the reasons she had to separate from her husband.

"It's Minnie Pearl's murder weapon."
Yes, they were.
I don't think there is any doubt they were having sex. Remember the guys looking through the telescope and watching him having sex with all those women? They said it was four or five a day.
shareHe admits it was sex + some other psycho-babble. I thought the whole flick was kind of stupid/unrealistic. As hot as Lee is, that is the hands-off level of crazy and having her banging a therapist next to your job site was icing on the cake.
The notion that sex with a patient (who's been raped by her other father figure BTW) would help is absolutely ludicrous.
Amy: I swear to God...I swear to God! That is NOT how you treat your human!
You make some excellent points, godfatherofsoul. I have to admit I was willing to overlook some pretty obvious plot problems and still enjoy the movie just because of Sheryl Lee's hotness.
